As another year draws to a close, it is notable that 2023 will be remembered for its negative headlines. The war of aggression against Ukraine launched by Russia on 24 February, has made us in Europe, too, acutely aware of how insecure and fragile our seemingly so secure world is, and marks a turning point, the effects of which are already being felt by everyone. It is vital that we continue to display a high degree of solidarity and unity, combined with understanding and determination, if we are to successfully overcome this crisis.

We regret to inform you that we had to bid farewell to our company founder and longstanding senior partner Mr. Helmut Stich in November. He demonstrated great courage, tireless commitment, outstanding expertise and a great deal of humanity, as he played a key role in shaping our company until his departure. The success of our company is inextricably linked with his name. We will always honour the memory of Helmut Stich and continue his life's work in his spirit.

As the year draws to a close, we would like to thank you and your employees most sincerely for the pleasant, honest cooperation, your trust, solidarity and support, even in difficult situations.

as we approach the end of the year, we reflect on the events and developments that have shaped the past twelve months. In light of recent developments, it is evident that the expectations surrounding the vaccine development process for the rapid resolution of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic may not be met. Since the beginning of the year, we have all had to deal with unprecedented supply bottlenecks and price explosions, and this will continue to be an issue in the coming year.

The quality of welded joints is a key feature in the assessment of steel and stainless steel welded constructions. To ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality welded structures, our company undergoes regular, external audits by leading institutes. In addition to the technical qualifications of our welding specialists, the organisational framework conditions, such as quality controls, are also assessed.

The ongoing situation with the coronavirus has been a significant source of concern for almost a year. The effects of the pandemic are having a daily impact on almost all areas. The encouraging progress made in the field of vaccine development has given us all cause for optimism that a return to a state of normality in our personal lives and professional activities is within reach. In the meantime, it is essential that we all exercise patience, show consideration for others, and maintain confidence. Above all, we must display solidarity and offer mutual support.

No event in the recent past has had a more lasting impact on us than the coronavirus pandemic this year. The effects are being felt in all areas on a daily basis. While schools and nurseries were closed across the board during the first lockdown in March, the declared aim now, based on the negative experiences from the spring, is to keep schools and childcare centres open for as long as possible while ensuring maximum safety for those affected. The quality of the air in the rooms is of paramount importance. In addition to regular shock ventilation, the use of air purification devices can be highly beneficial, especially during the cold season.

Stich was honoured with a prestigious award on 4 March at the annual meeting of the service organisation of the globally operating pump manufacturer KSB AG, Frankenthal. Spiegelau-based pump specialist, Pump Partner of the Year, recognised as the leading KSB service company in Germany.
